The Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta said at the Government’s sitting Wednesday that tax debts had increased by 81 million leis in January 2010 in comparison with the same period last year. “Even though we managed to reduce the arrears in the IV quarter of the last year, they remain very big”, the Minister said. Speaking of wages, pensions and social allowances, Veaceslav Negruta said there were no debts. In January 2010, the state budget’s expenses for personnel, that is payment of salaries, obligatory state social insurance and obligatory medical insurance totaled 255.4 million leis and in February – 259.5 million leis covering all necessary payments. Expenses of territorial-administrative units’ budgets for personnel in January totaled 300.2 million leis, in February – 294.1 million leis. The Minister added that there were no grounds for accumulation of arrears of wages, pensions and social allowances.
