According to the National Bank of Moldova’s data, it increased by 961.66 million leis (8.2%) in comparison with the year of 2008. The volume of transactions effected in the same period of time abroad with bankcards issued in Moldova went down by 5.1 percent – from 742,9 million leis ($58.2 million) to 704.8 million leis ($5.2 million), while the volume of transactions effected in Moldova with bankcards released abroad went down by 13.9 percent – from 1 billion 347.9 million ($105.6 million) to 1 billion 160.6 million leis ($90.9 million).
